Hurricane Insurance Rates Coverage Florida, Melbourne
The official start to the 2010 Atlantic hurricane season is just a week away.
It's wind vs. water in many a hurricane insurance claim, so be sure you know the difference - and obtain both hurricane and flood insurance when protecting your home.
To the surprise of many home owners, your homeowners insurance typically does not cover flooding after a hurricane, unless it is caused by the roof of your home blowing off.
In a state with as high a risk of hurricanes and tropical storms as Florida, it is essential that you realize the limitations of typical homeowners insurance, and don't find out too late that homeowners insurance is not enough to protect your investment from hurricane damage. Flood insurance is inexpensive, yet could end up saving you tens or even hundreds of thousands of dollars and give you peace of mind in the aftermath of a hurricane or tropical storm.
Call Insurance Center of Central Florida TODAY and let us go over a new policy or your existing policy. Get on your way to great coverage and protection. Don't wait till it's too late!

Teen Auto Insurance Tips - Florida, Melbourne
Not only do parents worry about putting a teen behind the wheel of a car—any car—they have to weigh a number of options about teen auto insurance.
Expect Higher Premiums
For nearly all families, the biggest issue is the money. Almost without fail, a teenage driver will add significant cost to the family auto insurance.
The reason? Insurers base their auto rates on how likely a driver will get into a crash, and statistics show that young, inexperienced drivers account for a disproportionate share of crashes. When fatal crashes alone are examined, drivers between the ages of 16 and 17 are three times more likely to be killed in a traffic crash than people between the ages of 25 and 64, according to the National Safety Council.
Gender continues to play a role in those insurance rates, too, since teenage males are viewed as greater driving risks than are teenage females. Hunter noted a family's auto insurance rate might nearly double when a teenage girl is added to the policy, but it could triple if a teen boy is added.
You also will want to seek guidance if your teen splits time between your household and an ex-spouse's household. In some cases, the teen may wind up being listed only on the policy of the parent who has custody.
If you think insurance costs are high when your teen begins driving, just wait and see how quickly they climb if your teen starts to collect tickets and get into crashes.

SAVE $$$ ON INSURANCE - Insurance Center Central Florida can tell you how...
Your homeowners insurance premiums can vary by hundreds of dollars, depending on the size of your house, amount of coverage, your deductable, and the insurance company you choose. Many homeowners mistakenly assume that all policies and providers are the same. This type of thinking could cost you thousands of dollars in the long run. Here are some ways you can save money:
Shop around.
Prices vary from company to company, so it pays to shop around. Get at least three price quotes. You can call companies directly or access information via the Internet. Your state insurance department may also provide comparisons of prices charged by major insurers.
Get quotes from different types of insurance companies. There are three types of insurance companies:
1. Those that sell directly over the phone to the consumer
2. Those that sell through their own agencies that share the
name of the insurance company
3. Those that use independent agents
Price alone should not be the determining factor. Customer service and fair, efficient payment of claims are also important. You should speak to friends and co-workers about their experiences with various providers. Check with your state insurance department to research consumer complaint ratios.
Keep in mind: if you have a serious claim, these are the people you will be relying on to help you through it.

Auto Insurance Rates in Palm Bay, Florida
Frank: One of the other things I'd like to talk about is why you should shop your auto insurance. A lot of people get with the same company and stay with them for years. They don't really shop, and I don't think that's wise. Even if you read Consumer Reports, they will tell you to shop your rates not in between a direct writer, but go to some of the independent agents as well. There are several things that will affect your rates.
Kevin: Absolutely. Your auto premium can be based on a number of variable factors, anything from the age of the children or the age of the individuals on the auto insurance, the type of car that you drive, crash statistics - national crash statistics can have a huge impact. The geographical region that you live can have a huge impact. And these things are always changing, and several of which are out of your control. It's always a good idea to have your auto insurance shopped at least every couple of years to make if one of those variable factors have changed, you're not missing out on some possible premium savings.
Frank: One of the things we do, we have a program that will do five different rates at one time. And what's amazing to me is that the person sitting across from us has the same risk, but the companies will have rates that typically will vary up to 40%, and I think it really depends on the company who they're most comfortable insuring. Everybody's so different anymore that these rates aren't very consistent. One company might have higher rates, and they're going to terrible for this customer, and all of a sudden, they're the lowest. So, it does really pay to shop.
Kevin: Absolutely. And it's also important to remember that if you have significant changes in your life, if you get married for example, it might be a good idea to shop your auto insurance because one of the partners might have a better driving record than the other, might have a better credit score than the other. There might be an issue there that can help control the pricing of the auto insurance favorably. So, it's important that your auto insurance agent understands exactly how things are with your situation currently and is able to keep you up to date on any changes in your life or in your area that could have a direct impact on the cost of your auto insurance.
Frank: And especially if you have teenagers. I mean, teenagers are so expensive. And again, the company's rates deviate so much for teenagers. Some are more inclined to insure them. Some have special programs for them called Teensurance, where they want to insure those teenagers, and they want to help them take courses so they have fewer accidents. So, you do want to shop, especially if you have teenagers.
Kevin: Absolutely, it's extremely important that you contact your insurance agent, ask them if there's any possible factors that have happened in your life that could change the pricing of your auto insurance. You may not have had any accidents in quite some time. Contact your insurance agent today and ask them to quote your auto insurance for you and see if maybe some of those changes in your life will have a direct impact on how much you're paying for your insurance.
Frank: Again, give your agent a call, review your policy, and if youd like a second opinion, give us a call at the Insurance Center of Central Florida. Our number is below.
